Thermal Imaging Inspection

Thermal imaging is a valuable tool for building inspections and termite detection, identifying anomalies often invisible to the naked eye.

All materials absorb, retain and radiate heat energy at a different rate.

Each object in a property has a certain temperature and emits waves of energy called infrared radiation. Hot objects emit more energy than cold objects.

A thermal imager translates these energy waves into a viewable image which shows a “heat picture” of a scene. On the thermal imager screen hot objects show as white, cool objects show as black. Examples of hot objects are termite nests in a wall cavity, rats, possums or poor insulation. Cool object images typically include moisture penetration particularly in shower areas or water leaks to walls and ceilings.
